Delightfully festive Halloween Oreo stuffed chocolate chip cookies featuring a soft, gooey center with a hidden Oreo surprise. Perfect for holiday parties or a fun baking project, these cookies combine classic chocolate chip flavors with spooky sprinkles for a seasonal treat.

Ingredients

Wet Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, slightly softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 3/4 cup flour
  • 3 tbsp corn starch
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Mix-ins and Toppings

  • 2/3 cup semi sweet chocolate chips, plus more for topping
  • 9 Halloween Oreo cookies
  • 1/4 cup Halloween sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven and Prepare Baking Sheet: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silpat mat to prevent sticking.
  2. Cream Butter and Sugars: In a medium bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  3. Add Egg and Vanilla: Add the egg and vanilla extract to the creamed sugar and butter mixture, mixing well until everything is fully incorporated.
  4. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, corn starch, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and stir just until combined without overmixing.
  5. Fold in Chocolate Chips and Sprinkles: Gently fold in the semi sweet chocolate chips and Halloween sprinkles into the cookie dough for bursts of flavor and festive color.
  6. Form Oreo-Stuffed Cookies: Using a large cookie scoop (about 1/4 cup dough), scoop the cookie dough and flatten it slightly in your palm. Place a Halloween Oreo cookie in the center, then carefully encase the Oreo by folding the dough over it and rolling to seal completely.
  7. Bake the Cookies: Arrange the stuffed cookies on the prepared baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes. It’s fine if the cookies look a bit underdone or gooey in the center, as they will continue to cook slightly once removed.
  8. Add Toppings and Cool: Immediately after removing the cookies from the oven, press extra chocolate chips on top for added chocolatey goodness. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Ensure the butter is just slightly softened, not melted, for best creaming results.
  • Do not overmix once the dry ingredients are added to keep cookies tender and soft.
  • Using a cookie scoop helps create uniform-sized cookies that bake evenly.
  • Cooling on the baking sheet before transferring helps the cookies set without breaking apart.
  • You can substitute Halloween Oreos with regular Oreos if seasonal cookies are unavailable.
