Crispy and fluffy air fryer baked potatoes seasoned with olive oil, sea salt, and pepper, served with rich butter, sour cream, and fresh chives for a perfect side dish or snack.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 4 medium-sized Russet potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Sea salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Toppings

  • 4 tablespoons butter (1 tablespoon per potato)
  • 1 cup sour cream (for serving)
  • 1/4 cup chopped chives (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Potatoes: Wash the Russet potatoes thoroughly under cold water and pat them dry with a paper towel to remove any moisture.
  2. Poke Holes: Using a fork, poke several holes in each potato to allow steam to escape during cooking and ensure even baking.
  3. Season Potatoes: Rub each potato evenly with olive oil, then sprinkle sea salt and pepper generously over them for flavor.
  4. Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 200°C (400°F) for about 5 minutes to reach the ideal cooking temperature.
  5. Cook Potatoes: Place the seasoned potatoes in the air fryer basket and cook for 40 minutes, turning them halfway through to ensure even crisping on all sides.
  6. Check Doneness: Insert a fork or knife into the center of a potato to test if it’s tender all the way through; the potato should be soft inside.
  7. Serve: Carefully remove the potatoes from the air fryer, cut a slit down the center of each, add 1 tablespoon butter, and top with sour cream and chopped chives for garnish.

Notes

  • Choose potatoes similar in size for even cooking.
  • Poking holes prevents the potatoes from bursting during cooking.
  • You can substitute sour cream with Greek yogurt for a lighter option.
  • Adding additional toppings such as shredded cheese or bacon bits can enhance flavor.
  • Use tongs or oven mitts to safely handle hot potatoes from the air fryer.
